About Alê York
Get to know a little bit about this story
Alê York is from Rio de Janeiro, she moved to New York in 2008 to improve her English through an exchange program. She decided to live permanently in the country in 2011 and continue her studies. Graduated in Human Resources Management in Brazil, she is now a Sociologist in New York.
Alê is a Family Support Specialist. She has been working since 2012 supporting children and families to fight child abuse, malnutrition and domestic violence through education.
She is also a Mental Health First Assistant and has worked for years as an HR Director in Upstate New York, helping clients qualify for and find jobs. She conducted comprehensive assessments to understand the immediate needs of each client and connect them with available community resources. We recognize that finding a solution is not always easy; often, clients need emotional support and a strong support network.
Creator of content on Instagram and YouTube, she addresses relaxed subjects, but encourages people to practice gratitude, talks about mental health, family support, gives work tips, English and the United States.
She has been conquering her audience through her simplicity and empathy when sharing her reflections on life and her routine.

Journal “Dealing with Grief”
Alê became orphan at the age of 2 and has been dealing with grief ever since. One of the ways it helped this painful and confusing process was by writing, and with that in mind, she wanted to share a free grief journal because she knows that coping with grief of the people we love is challenging, but the journal can help.
